Let’s clear up the confusion first, because it costs people interviews. When you search “Capital One HireVue,” you’re often looking for the wrong tool. Capital One’s main early screen is its own proprietary Virtual Job Tryout (VJT), a written, multiple-choice assessment, not a video interview. HireVue (a one-way recorded video) is confirmed as something Capital…
If you’ve got an interview coming up at CenterPoint Energy, you’re looking at a company that keeps the lights on and the gas flowing for millions of people across Texas and several other states. That kind of essential infrastructure work comes with a very specific hiring bar, and knowing what that bar looks like ahead…
The Department of Veterans Affairs is one of the largest employers in the country, and it hires for just about every job you can think of: registered nurses, medical support assistants, licensed practical nurses, social workers, veterans service representatives, IT specialists, and plenty of administrative and clerical roles. If you’re aiming for any of them,…
You just got an email mentioning SHL, and now you’re Googling at 11pm trying to figure out what you’re actually walking into. Take a breath. This is one of the most predictable parts of any hiring process once you understand how it’s built. Here’s the first thing to get straight: SHL isn’t one test. It’s…

It feels strange because it is strange. Here’s the honest part. Citi doesn’t publicly name the vendor behind this stage. Candidates on Glassdoor and…
Providence Health isn’t a place where you can wing the interview and hope your resume carries you. It’s a mission-driven, Catholic nonprofit health system, and the people across the table are listening for something most candidates forget to bring: proof that you actually care about serving people who are poor and vulnerable. That’s the piece…
Charter Communications does most of its business under the Spectrum brand, and it’s one of the biggest telecom employers in the country. Its services reach more than 57 million homes and businesses across 41 states, so the company is almost always hiring somewhere. That scale means the interview looks different depending on the job. A…
American Express uses HireVue as a one-way, recorded video interview at the screening stage. You read or watch a question on screen, get about 30 seconds to think, then record your answer with no interviewer looking back at you. That empty-room feeling is exactly what trips people up. There’s no smile to read, no follow-up…
Ryder hires across a huge range of jobs, from CDL drivers and diesel techs to logistics managers, business analysts, software engineers, and warehouse leads. That means there’s no single “Ryder interview,” but there is a common thread running through all of them: safety, reliability, and a real focus on keeping customers happy. The good news…
